A new project for me! I’m working on a wall hanging and have very little idea where I’m going with it. As usual, I’m not buying materials but using what I have on hand. There was this quilt top in the free box where I volunteered, all brown and shredded in spots, so I did the usual, using fabric restorer to take out the brown first, then seeing what I could salvage. There wasn’t a lot, but I hung onto what I could, which included some big white and pink flowers. I looked for photos I might have taken, but no luck! Trust me—it was shabby and sad.
Fast forward to now, and I’m auditioning fabrics and ideas and pull out this scrap. I also find some batiks I’ve been saving for a special project and—voila! This may be it! Here are some photos of the two flowers I cut out of the quilt remnant, along with a peony I built from scraps and embroidered.
It’s a start! I’ll keep you posted!

Donise, you realized what I hadn’t! I’m close to finishing, and I’m seeing that it does have a strong flavor of that.
