This book is a surprise, and I’m still not sure how I feel, having finished, but no question it’s beautifully written with a remarkable protagonist and rich characters surrounding her. I smiled, I worried, I hurt, but above all, I’m both heartbroken and hopeful. Ms. Serle’s talent shines. It’s my first read of hers, but it won’t be my last, for sure.
